TECHATHON 1.0
AIC π-Hub, a premier incubator supporting deep-tech startups, is thrilled to announce Techathon 1.0, a national-level event focused on developing innovative solutions for a low-cost laser-based metal 3D printer. It aims to foster creativity, encourage collaboration, and identify promising ideas that have the potential to make metal 3D printing technology affordable and accessible to all in India.

Round - I
- A short proposal outlining their idea/ concept for a low-cost laser-based metal 3D printer.
- The proposal should include novel ideas/ designs, technical specifications, and a preliminary business plan/ outlook/ strategy to commercialize the idea.
- The proposal should not be more than 400 words.
- It is encouraged to include schematic sketches/ drawings for better representation of the novel ideas/ designs.
- Teams qualifying for Round-II will be connected to a mentor for the next round and will be provided with a participation certificate.
Round - II
- The shortlisted teams from Round-I will present their proposal to a panel of experts from manufacturing, technology, and entrepreneurship in virtual mode.
- The presentation should have a virtual prototype of their designs, detailed technical specifications, and cost estimates with a focus on performance, scalability, and affordability.
Round - III
- The final Pitch Event will be of two days including a one-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), pitching techniques, and investor readiness.
- Teams selected for Round-III will be provided travel support and free accommodation.
- Teams will present their refined proposals to a distinguished jury comprising industry leaders, investors, and technology experts. The jury will evaluate pitches based on innovation, feasibility, market potential, and business viability.

Techathon 1.0 will be open to a diverse range of Indian participants in a team of 2 – 4 members including:
- Engineering students (undergraduate and postgraduate)
- Design students (industrial, product, mechanical)
- Early-stage entrepreneurs
- Professionals working in related fields (e.g., mechanical engineering, materials science, laser technology)
The age of all team members should be less than 35 years on May 3, 2024.
